Amsterdam Vegan Food – Vegabond

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, less than 5 minutes from the Anne Frank House museum, Vegabond is both a lunchroom and a small store.

If you can find a seat, having breakfast or lunch by the large window and its view of the canal is quite a lovely experience. But this place seems to be quite popular so you might have to order takeaway.

On the menu, you can find breakfast bowls, wraps, rolls and sandwiches as well as donuts, brownies, carrot cake and their vegan snickers bar. They also have a large selection of hot drinks, juices and smoothies.

The wrap we had was fresh & tasty, although we found 6.5€ a bit expensive for some lettuce, cucumber and hummus. It won’t fill you up for long either. The hazelnut brownie was a generous slice for 3.5€ and was rich in chocolate, melted in your mouth.

Vegabond is definitely a good place to have a light lunch or cake & coffee in the afternoon.

Something worth mentioning though is they don’t let you use the restroom under any circumstances. For a place that sells drinks and has a seating area to eat in, denying paying customers access to the bathroom didn’t seem quite legal to us.

Store prices were reasonable and despite the limited space, there was a good selection of food and even some books.
